President Bush Speaks At Bridgemont

Former President George W. Bush flew in to Bridgemont Thursday, October 8th, 2009 to address a conference of 9000 conference attendees who had gathered to celebrate the core values of America and what makes America such a great nation. Called "Celebrators", the event was held on site at Bridgemont in the City of Sevierville Tennessee's 240,000 sq. ft. Events Center. Attendees trekked from all over the United States to attend this three-day conference.

Bridgemont's existing 650 overnight accommodations at Wilderness Resorts at the Smokies were 100% booked, as were other hoteliers in the market. The event had an estimated $6,750,000 economic impact on Bridgemont and the Great Smoky Mountain Region, and is just one of five major events to be held at Bridgemont this month.

Since its opening in September of 2007, the Events Center at Bridgemont has demonstrated its ability to offer event and meeting planners an unparallel visitor experience and has become the region's ideal facility for groups of up to 10,000. The Events Center is surrounded by beautiful views of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, two new golf courses that flow through the Bridgemont and is directly adjacent to the site of a 500,000 sq. ft retail development to be known as Great Smoky Mountain Crossing. The retail development is on schedule to open in spring of 2012 and will become another major amenity at Bridgemont. The beauty of the area was not lost on President Bush. The President took unscheduled time to take in the scenery and was heard to comment that he intended to return with his wife Laura for a longer return visit in the near future.

With over 10 million visitors annually, the Sevierville market is the 6th most visited tourist destination in the country. An area known for its natural beauty, entertainment and the gracious hospitality of the community, Bridgemont specifically caters to families, groups and events looking for the best of both worlds - a destination within an easy day's drive, but also in the midst of the beautiful shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains.
