Sevierville, TN

Sevierville, TN- The city's plans for an expanded golf course are getting national recognition.

The expansion of Eagle's Landing Golf Course will include renovations to the existing course and the addition of an 18-hole resort course to serve the Sevierville Events Center at Bridgemont.

Golf Inc. magazine recognized the project this month as one of the top 10 golf developments under way in the country, giving it a development newsmaker of the year award. It was the first time the magazine recognized a course in Tennessee. Other winners include courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, Pete Dye, Greg Norman, Gary Player, Tom Kite and Nick Faldo.

"We were honored to receive this recognition, especially considering the other award winners," said Bob Stahlke, spokesman for the City of Sevierville. "We have recognized from the beginning the importance of providing a quality golf experience adjacent to our events center and the award demonstrates we are well on our way to meeting that goal."

Faye Randolph, director of the golf course, said she was proudest of the way the new design incorporates the environment. New holes will venture onto nearby islands and add other new features.

"We're doing a lot of things environmentally to make the Eagle's Landing courses at Bridgemont spectacular," Randolph said. "We are utilizing our natural features and resources to create a truly unique golfing experience."
